South Whidbey Island is beautiful and
an excellent place to ride. Although Hwy. 525 is the most direct
route from one end of the island to the other, it is not the best
route for cyclists because the auto traffic is high volume and
high speed. The roads shown on this map are good alternatives
for cyclists because they have less traffic and are quite scenic.
The symbols provide a general indication of the terrain. The arrow
indicates the direction of the uphill grade and the symbol at
the tail of the arrow indicates the steepness. Where no symbol
is shown the terrain is either generally easy or any hills are
short.
Ride Safely! Happy Cycling!
